Abstract. The article examines the concept of “game” from the perspective of needs satisfaction and result achievement. The presence of a motive, a goal and a result turns the game into a competition, transforming it into another category with specific “game situations” and conditions of perception. The purpose of the article is to show how the perception of the surrounding reality transforms the game from the category of “process” in which there is no motive for an activity, into the category of “competition”, where there is a motive, a goal and a result. Keywords: perception, game situation, activity, motive, goal, result.
